This privacy policy explains how Lettermen Sports ("Lettermen", "we", "us") collects, uses and shares your personal information when you visit lettermensports.com, shop with us online or in our stores, or sign up for Lettermen Loot, email or text messages. We are based in Minnesota, USA, and your information is stored in the United States. We may change this policy from time to time by updating this page; the date above tells you when it last changed.

What we collect

Depending on how you shop with us, we collect:

  • Contact details - your name, billing and shipping address, email address and phone number.
  • Order information - what you bought, payment confirmation, shipping details and any custom-gear details such as names, numbers and sizes. Card numbers go straight to our payment processors and are not stored on our systems.
  • Account information - your login, order history, saved addresses and Lettermen Loot points balance.
  • Customer service - what you tell us when you contact us by email, phone, text or chat, including reviews and survey answers.
  • Device and usage information - your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and how you reached our site, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see "Cookies" below).

We collect this information from you directly (when you place an order, create an account or contact us), automatically from your browser or device, and from the service providers listed below (for example, the platform that sends our emails tells us which emails were opened).

How we use it

  • To process and deliver your orders, take payment, handle returns and send order updates.
  • To run your account and the Lettermen Loot rewards program.
  • To answer your questions and provide customer service.
  • To send you promotional emails and texts about new products, special offers and events when you have signed up for them. Every message tells you how to stop them.
  • To understand how our website is used, fix problems and improve our products, stores and website.
  • To prevent fraud, protect our customers and our business, and meet our legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not give it to other companies for their own marketing. We share it only with:

  • Shopify, which hosts our online store and processes payments. Shopify's privacy policy is at shopify.com/legal/privacy.
  • Service providers that work for us: payment processors, shipping carriers and our shipping software, our email and text-message platform, our point-of-sale and inventory system, and the tools that run product options and pages on the site. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
  • Advertising and analytics partners such as Google and Meta, which may collect information about your visit through cookies to measure our advertising and show you Lettermen ads elsewhere. California law may treat this as "sharing". You can opt out as described under "Your privacy rights".
  • Law enforcement, courts and regulators when the law requires it, and a buyer or successor if our business is sold or merged.

Cookies

Cookies are small files placed on your device. Our store uses cookies that are necessary for the site to work (keeping your cart and your login), cookies that remember your preferences, analytics cookies that tell us how the site is used, and marketing cookies that measure our advertising. The full list of cookies used by our Shopify store is in Shopify's cookie policy. Where the law requires it, a banner asks for your consent before non-essential cookies are set. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may then not work.

Lettermen Loot rewards

Lettermen Loot is our rewards program. You earn points on purchases (each product page shows how many) and redeem them for money off future orders; one point is worth $1.00. To take part you need a customer account, and we use your name, email address and purchase history to award and track your points. Joining is optional, and you can leave at any time by contacting us at the address below; we will then close your Loot account. Because we offer a benefit in exchange for personal information, California law treats Loot as a financial incentive. Our good-faith estimate of the value of the information involved is the value of the points you earn, and that benefit is reasonably related to the value of the information because we use it only to run the program and to serve you better.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy of it.
  • Correct information that is wrong or out of date.
  • Delete your personal information, subject to exceptions such as records we must keep for completed orders, returns, warranties and tax.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising, using the "Do not sell or share my personal information" link in the footer of our website or by contacting us. We also honor the Global Privacy Control signal sent by some browsers.
  • Stop marketing messages at any time, using the unsubscribe link in any email or by texting STOP.

To exercise these rights, email customerservice@lettermensports.com or call 763-780-8077. We will need to confirm that the request comes from you, or from an agent you have authorized, by matching the details you give us with the information in our records. We respond within 45 days, there is no charge, and we will never treat you differently for exercising your rights. If you have an account, you can also update your details by logging in.

Text messages

If you opt in to text messages from Lettermen Sports (for example by replying YES to an invitation or checking the box at checkout), we will send you order updates and marketing texts. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchase. Reply HELP for help or STOP to cancel at any time (END, EXIT and UNSUBSCRIBE also work); you will get one final message confirming that you are unsubscribed, and you can text START to sign up again. Your mobile information will not be shared with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Security and retention

Our store runs on Shopify, and payment card details go straight to the payment processor rather than to us. We limit access to personal information to staff who need it and keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above and for as long as tax and accounting rules require.

Children

Our website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Orders for youth teams are placed by adults.

Our website may link to other websites. We have no control over them, and this policy does not cover them, so please read their own privacy statements.
