The Gel Max Power is a low-profile Shock Doctor boil-and-bite mouthguard with a Gel-Fit liner and a convertible tether, so it can be worn strapped to the helmet or strapless.

To fit it, Shock Doctor says to bring 3 to 4 inches of water to a rolling boil, take it off the heat and wait 30 seconds, then soak the guard for no more than 60 seconds, with the tether attached first if you will wear it strapped. Lift it out with a slotted spoon, cool it in tap water for 1 to 2 seconds, and press it onto your upper teeth, molars first and then the front teeth. Bite down hard, suck in and press the edges with your fingers, then cool it in cold water for 30 seconds and check the fit.
